In the years leading up to the foundation of Chance International, and since its establishment in 2008, our achievements in this area include:

• integrated the neighbouring villages of Lampineung, Lam Gapang, Lamboui and Kling to our Programs at their request
• contained and treated many Malaria and Dengue cases through our education, protection and prevention program
• witnessed a dramatic decrease of stagnant water areas in the villages
• no Malaria or Dengue cases have been reported in over 3 months, despite the rainy season
• developed a very close working relationship with a hospital in Banda Aceh, the main hospital in the province of Aceh, and if there is an outbreak of malaria or dengue fever, we bring a medical team to the villages for mass treatment
• run health workshops on various health care such as diabetes and dental hygeine
• organised and/or funded numerous operations for hernias, hydrocephalous, tumours, congenital heart disease, cataract operations, hair lip, cleft palettes and even a bullet in the brain

• inhabitants of the region are beginning to have a higher understanding of how to prevent and identify diseases which are prevalent in the area and protect their children
• children are beginning to look after their teeth
• local government health services have become interested in our Programs
• children who have been taught awareness of how to identify causes of and prevent malaria and dengue fever, have passed this information to their parents who now proactively cover stagnant water in and around their homes
