Computer Training Program
NEED
It is now mandatory for students in higher education facilities to complete their homework on a computer and computer training is part of the National Curriculum. Such students in the villages of Lam Asan, Lampineung, Lam Gapang, Lamboui and Kling who have managed to attend secondary school and/or higher education facilities, have no access to computers and have to use computer rental cafes at a cost of €0.33 cents per hour, representing a quarter of a day's wage for a brick factory worker, plus further printing costs. As they have no typing skills, it takes a long time to complete homework, and so exacerbates the cost.SCOPE
Chance International needs funding to continue our training of up to 400 further education students and young people looking for employment in the villages of Lam Asan, Lampineung, Lam Gapang, Lamboui and Kling and the surrounding area typing and computer skills, and place them in a better position to complete secondary and higher education programs, obtain employment in the city and/or supplement their income by undertaking freelance typing work. This includes:- a typing course, to include basic graphics, touch typing
- a computer course
- a "learning with computers" course
- an internet course
- free computer access
- free internet access for students needing to do research
