Urgent Appeals Program
We urgently need funding to enable us to continue our Programs. All the money we raise goes directly to the charity's beneficiaries. No salaries or expenses are paid to administrators and only local salaries are paid to Staff in Indonesia.
Chance International works with the Children of Sumatra to help children suffering from cleft palettes and hair lips and ensure they receive the operations they need. To learn more about the important work of Children of Sumatra, please visit their website at www.childrenofsumatra.org.
Siti, Banda Aceh
Siti is a very courageous young girl who is in desperate need for urgent help. At the age of 5, she caught an infection known as Stomatitis Gangrenosa which ate away at her face. Her jaw is now locked and she is only able to eat through the small area at the back of her teeth. Siti's mother died when she was very young and her father re-married and has neglected her welfare. For 15 years, Siti has suffered in silence until she was found by chance last year. She is severely undernourished and is suffering from extreme vitamin deficiency. Her condition causes her severe pain. She has been assessed by expert consultants in Java who hope to be able to give her the first of 4 life changing operations in November 2009.
We are assisting our partner organisation Children of Sumatra in raising funds to cover her pre-operation diet, living and transportation costs before and in between operations. We urgently need enough funding to ensure that we can responsibly start the operations and medical treatment she needs. If you can help Siti, please contact us at
